How it works

Save & Compare makes the shopping journey simple for your customers, and more insightful for your dealership:

1  Click the heart ❤️

Shoppers click the heart icon on a Vehicle Results Page (VRP) or Vehicle Details Page (VDP) to save a vehicle they’re interested in — a strong early signal of intent.

2  Sign in or create a profile

They’re prompted to sign in or quickly create a profile with just an email or phone number. Shoppers re-enter with a one-time PIN — no passwords to remember, no resets.

3  Build their list

Saved vehicles stay in their profile, making it easy for shoppers to revisit favorites and return to your site ready to continue where they left off.

4  Compare side-by-side

With two or more vehicles saved, shoppers can launch the comparison table to view pricing, features, and specs next to each other — turning research into confident decisions.

5  Compare payments (requires Online Shopper)

Shoppers can take their comparison further by estimating monthly payments. They can add a trade-in, adjust finance terms, and customize payment options — giving them confidence in affordability while giving you clearer insight into their budget.

What gets tracked

Save & Compare automatically captures engagement data you can review with your Performance Manager in monthly reporting. That includes:

  • Top-Engaged Inventory: which vehicles get the most saves and compares
  • Compare Clicks: which models are going head-to-head
  • Save Clicks: strong early signs of purchase interest (and by default, a Save creates a lead in your CRM)
  • Engagement Trends: daily and monthly patterns that reveal demand shifts

Together, these signals create a more complete picture of demand, surfacing opportunities that traditional lead forms alone can’t show.

Turn insights into action

Save & Compare metrics are reviewed with your Performance Manager during your monthly performance calls along with proactive strategies you can act on right away. For example:

Spot the hottest vehicles → See which models are being saved or compared most often. These digital hot sellers are ideal to feature in homepage banners, highlight in email campaigns, or prioritize in paid ads.

Uncover inventory opportunities → If certain trims or configurations keep appearing in comparisons, that’s a clear sign of demand. Use these insights to guide smarter sourcing decisions, pricing adjustments, or merchandising updates.

Equip your sales team with buyer context → When shoppers compare vehicles, they’re in decision mode. Translate that signal into tailored conversations — like offering back-to-back test drives of the exact models being compared.

Measure engagement beyond leads → Track saves and comparisons alongside pageviews and conversions. These mid-funnel signals are early indicators of purchase intent, giving you a broader view of which marketing and merchandising efforts are working.
